text
Freeze/stop-pay = the account still exists, but funds or transaction capability are restricted.

These controls affect available balance, transaction eligibility, account closure, time deposit withdrawal, and whether release, renewal, or special approval is needed.

Freeze vs. Account Status

A freeze may affect account status or restriction status, but it is not the only source of restriction. Restrictions may also come from restriction codes, legal debits, risk controls, product rules, lost/stolen status, stop-pay, closure status, or regulatory actions.

ObjectReading
Freeze transactionThe action that places a freeze, such as [2001] Account Freeze.
Freeze typeThe control form, such as amount freeze or direction control.
Freeze reason codeWhy the freeze exists, such as pledge, certificate of deposit, AML, or other.
Restriction statusThe status shown on inquiry pages after controls are applied.
Special operation recordThe history used to trace freeze, release, renewal, and legal debit actions.

Risk Controls

  • A freeze affects customer fund rights and must have a clear business basis.
  • Freeze type and freeze reason code must match.
  • Amount freezes require careful checking of frozen amount, ledger balance, and available balance.
  • Expiration date matters for release, renewal, or automatic expiry.
  • Release and renewal must trace back to the original freeze record.
  • Legal, pledge, AML, and collateral-related controls require stricter policy and authorization handling.
